From official records of the Baptist Church:
Drury was born in Fayetteville, Cumberland County, North Carolina on the 25th day of September, 1788. His parents removed with him to Washington County, Virginia about 1792* and there he married on June 6th 1809. In the year 1814 he became a member of the Primitive Baptist Church at St. Clair's Bottom, Virginia and answered the Call of the Lord. In December, 1815 he was licensed to preach in the same church… He laboured as a public minister until 1823 when he was chosen by the Washington Association as their messenger to Sister Association in North Carolina. In the year 1823 he removed to North Carolina and settled in the county of Ashe where he laboured as a public minister in the Mountain and adjoining Association, and his labours were greatly blessed. About the year 1840 he removed to the county of Grayson where he lived until the time of his death on the 10th day of January, 1853. He died of that sly and deceitful destroyer Dispepsa, which flatters but to kill.

Concerning the obituary of Drury Senter and the "moving to VA 1792". I have the obituary "copied from Minutes of Washington District Baptist Association for the year 1855 by E.J. Sutherland, Clintwood Virginia". He does not say the year he copied it but it is done on an old typewriter. I also have a Genealogy done by Rodney D. Senter about 1972. On page 3 it says "from official records of the Baptist Church: ......His parents removed with him to Washington County, VA (about 1792)........
This appears to be where the 1792 move to VA came from. I don't believe it to be correct as Henry is still on the 1800 census in Cumberland Co.
From Ashe County History, by Fletcher
The Senter Baptist Association was formed at a convention held at Senter Church in Ashe County, named for the renowned Elder Druwry (sp. Var.) Senter, and his equally famous son, Elder Nathaniel Senter. The convention met on October 21st, 1853, and when it had finished its labours there was a new Association - The Senter, named for the two preachers. The Association was made up of four churches from the Three Forks Association (Bear Creek, Beaver Creek, North Fork, and Horse Creek) and five from the mountain Association (Big Helton, Silas Creek, South Fork, Senter and Cranberry). To the Credit of the Senter Association is the first recorded action toward bettering educational facilities in Ashe County. (They had planned to erect a school, but the Civil War forced abandonment of the idea.)

Stephen Henry was a Baptist Minister like his father. He was born February 16th 1814 in Washington Co. at St. Clair's Bottom, Virginia. His first wife Drucilla Dixon died shortly after giving birth to Enoch D. By the time Stephen Henry married Sarah Sally Long Landreth on August 2nd 1846 who was from Grayson Co. Virginia. He had moved to the Grayson Co. area which is on the state line south of Wythville, Virginia. Their first five children together were born there in Grayson Co. Virginia. Stephen Henry moved his family to Elkhorn City, Kentucky area by 1852. His daughter Martha Jane was born in Wise Co. Virginia on August 2nd 1852 according to her birth record. At that time Wise Co. included what is now Dickenson Co. The first Election of Wise County officials, in May 1856, Stephen Henry Senter was voted in as one of 20 Justices Of the Peace. His second wife Sarah "Sally" Senter died on November 1st 1867. Stephen Henry married for the third time to Hulda Mullins on November 28th 1868 at the Wise Co. Court House.
Stephen Henry traveled on a mule, to preach on both the Kentucky and Virginia side of the Cumberland Mountains while he lived there. He is buried in the cemetery overlooking Elkhorn City. And a memorial stone was placed there in the 1970s by some of his descendents. Many of the People in Eastern Kentucky, and Southwestern Virginia, can trace their ancestry back to the large family of Stephen Henry Senter.

Felix Osborne Senter (1838-1918) NOTE****Please see "Civil War History Notes" section.
Married: Elizabeth McFall (1834-1918), About 1863.
Children: Married:
Alvin Lee (1864-?) Moreda Ramey
Madison "Matt" Lee (1866-1929) Winnie Cantrell
Patrick E. (1867-1917) Ellen Hopson
Drury "Drew" G. (1870-1943) Aliphare Sanders
Enoch Fulton (1871-1928) Francis Ramey
Felix was born in Ashe Co. North Carolina, near the town of Crumpler on Sept 1st 1838. The family moved to Grayson Co. Virginia sometime after the death of his mother Drucilla in 1841. Felix's father "Stephen Henry", remarried again in 1846 to Sarah "Sally" Long Landreth who was from Grayson Co..
The family moved once again to Elkhorn City, Kentucky area about 1858, where Felix's half sister Elvina was born on March 22nd 1858 in Wise Co. Virginia. Felix being 20 years old at the time struck out on his own and continued on over the mountain through Blowing Rock Gap to settle on the Virginia side of the mountains. His homestead can still be seen today with its mortarless stone chimney intact.
During the Civil war Felix and brother's Andrew and Enoch joined the Confederate Army. They enlisted at the Wise Co. Court House. Felix joined on June 3rd 1861. But was wounded at the Battle of Fort Donelson on the Tennessee River on February 15th 1862. Felix rose to the rank of Sergeant in the time he served the Confederate army. His brothers fought to the last battle in the state of Virginia, where the surrender was signed at Appomattox Court House.
After returning home from the war Felix married Elizabeth McFall. Felix was an educated man, and served as County Clerk of Dickenson County, Virginia in 1899. His portrait still hangs in the courthouse at Clintwood, Va. And records in his beautiful, even hand script are extant. He died while in Elkhorn City, Ky. And is buried there near his father. The old "hog" rifle, powderhorn and bullet mold he carried in the War are still in the family, and it is even said one of us still has the rifle mini-ball taken from the wound described below. NOTE****(Mini-Ball slug normally 50 caliber)
