Charles L. Byrd, Sr.
Charles Lee Byrd Sr., 66, of Broadway died Sunday, March 19 at Central Carolina Hospital.
Funeral services were held this morning at Antioch Baptist Church in Mamers by the Rev. Martin Groover. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Adams Byrd; two daughters, Peggy Lynch of Lillington and Charlene Harrington of Sanford; four sons, Eddie Byrd of Sanford, Jimmy Byrd of Mamers, Chuck Byrd of Bunnlevel and Johnny Byrd of Lillington; one stepdaughter, Tammy Adcock of Broadway; two stepsons, Roger Byrd of Broadway and Jamie E. Byrd of Sanford; his mother, Bertha Byrd Dennis of Lillington; four brothers, Bobby Byrd and Jerry Byrd, both of Lillington, Bernice Byrd of Linden and
Herman Byrd of Broadway; three stepsisters, Margaret Turner and Lucille Christian, both of Lillington, and Ilene Tupper of Florida; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
