I saw your information at Ancestry.com concerning Reuben & Elizabeth Stewart's children and husband of Frances Stewart.

My ggggrandmother was Nancy Stewart. Nancy Stewart b. August 12, 1812, married William Ham b 1802 in Dobbs North Carolina. and d December 12, 1882, in Fayette, AL. William's father was Spious Ham St., 1769-1773 and his mother was Charity Roberts. Nancy and William Ham's daughter was Margaret Ham who married James B. Morton b. 1833 in Fayette, AL. It surprised me when I saw your information showing Frances Stewart (Nancy's sister) had married William Ham. Could there have been two William Ham's both married by sisters? Iris Hill Brown shows Frances Ham married Spious Ham, Jr., William Ham's brother.

Church of Latter Day Saints IGI shows William Ham son of Spias & Charity Ham
Also shows Spias Ham m Charity Roberts in 1790, Wayne, North Carolina

FTW Kathy Burgheimer shows William Ham, son of Spias & Charity Ham m. Nancy Stewart.

1850 census Fayette County AL shows William Ham 47 farmer born NC
Nancy Ham 38 keeping house TN
      Henry Ham 19 AL
      Reuben Ham 17 AL
      Margaret Ham 14 AL
      Nancy Ham 12 AL
      William Ham 9 AL
      Charles Ham 7 AL

      Sarah Ham 3 AL

      1870 census Fayette Co., AL
      William Ham 68 farmer NC
Nancy Ham 56 keeping house TN

FTW from Iris Hill Brown showing Nancy Stewart married William Ham. Frances Stewart married Spious Ham, Jr., William's brother. ( I have a 300+ page, well documented document from her on the Stewart family)

I also have a letter from CJ Ham (Charles Ham, Nancy's Stewart's son) to J. B. Morton (Nancy's son-in-law) granting J. B. Morton power of attorney.

I have pictures of Nancy Stewart Ham and William Ham (be glad to send them to you)

Sarah Florentine Morton's Bible (b. 11-12-1861) (Sarah Florentine was the daughter of James B. and Margaret Ham Morton. Notes in Bible show Margaret Ham's father was William Ham died December 12, 1882.

Please let me know if you would like any additional information or if you have documentation that shows my records are incorrect.

Thank you so much, Cheryl Morton Johnson
