"...Interesting story.. My grandfather Howard and his younger brother Marvin (Gregory) went to the store. A black man was in line in front of them. Howard told the man "Take off your hat when you're in the presence of a lady" referring to the woman at the cash register. The man paid for his purchase and left. Howard and Marvin paid and left. In the parking lot, the black man pulled out a gun and fired. He did not shoot Howard, who had spoken to him in store, instead he mistakenly shot and killed Marvin. (only 26 years old with an eight week old daughter). Not quite the end of the story. The next day his heartbroken mother Lula Adams Gregory, after visiting her son at the funeral parlor returned home, went into her bedroom, laid upon the bed and died. They had a double funeral for mother and son. My mother loved her Grandma Lula and I have heard this story several times in my life".
