SEVEN SISTERS
Mr. Jack THOMAS, who lived on Lick Creek, was the father of ten children, eight girls and two boys. One girl [Flora] was burned to death when only three years old. The boys, W.A.J. [William Alfred Jones]THOMAS and James THOMAS are both dead. There are now living seven sisters: Mrs. Jane BERRYMAN, 83 years old; Mrs. Belle MCFARLAND, 76 years old; Mrs. Mary A. KELLY, 74 years old; Mrs. Emma PERRY, 72 years old; Mrs. Sallie G. KELLY, 70 years old; Mrs. Delany BURT, 66 years old. Mrs Delitha WICKER, 66 years old. The last two are twins, and all of them are now widows except Mrs. WICKER, who is the wife of Rev. J.D. [John Daniel] WICKER, of Sanford [Lee Co., NC]
One day recently these seven sisters were all together at Mr. Joe GASTER'S, where they had their pictures taken in a group. They had not all been together before at one time in fifty years. All of them live in Lee county, except Mrs. [Jesse Gaston] BURT, who lives in Montgomery county and all enjoy good health.
The children of these sisters and brothers number sixty-five, the grand children two hundred and one, and the great-grand children twenty-four.
