John Blue
"In 1800 John transferred land to his brother, James. This land was John's share of his father's estate on Fox Branch on Goldsboro Road, 7 miles east of Fayetteville, Cumberland Co. NC. By the early 1800s the family had moved to Christian Co. Kentucky. A familiar "Three Brothers" story is related in Perrin's 1884 history of Christian Co. KY. It states that brothers Neil, John and Sandy Blue went from
Cumberland Co. NC to Christian Co. KY with the Galbraith family. These three brothers appear to be sons of John and Margaret. In 1810 census for Christian Co. and in the 1820 census Margaret appears as the head of household. Five sons and one daughter are still living with her. Their
children were all baptized at Bluff Church, Wade, Cumberland Co. NC. The IGI refers to a Todd Co. KY will of John Blue which names Alexander, Archibald, Elizabeth, James, John and Neil D. The date is Oct 8, 1835, which is not consistent with this John's death date, but it may be the date of probate."
