Thelma M. Howard, 76
Thelma Margaret Matthews Howard, 76 of 408 W. I. St., Erwin, died Monday at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
She was a daughter of the late James. E. and Mazie Gregory Matthews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Waggie Matthews. Mrs. Howard was retired from Burlington Industries in Erwin.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 P.M. at Erwin Church of God of Prophecy by the Rev. Michael Johnson. Burial will follow in Erwin Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband, Lewis Howard; three sons, James Lewis Howard of Erwin, Thomas Howard of Smithfield, and Brooks Howard of Dunn; one daughter Margaret Lois Stagnetta of Goldsboro; one brother, Eldridge Matthews of Dunn; one sister, Eula Williams of Sanford; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Cromartie-Miller & Lee Funeral Home in Dunn. Sep 21, 1999. Date of obit in paper.
