The following article was published in the January 18th 1902 edition of the Wilmington Messenger, the January 17th 1902 edition of the Wilmington Dispatch, February 26th 1902 edition of the Wilmington
Dispatch and the April 13th edition of the Wilmington Star. - The Richmond News of January 16 says: - "Charles H. Hurcamp, of Fredricksburg, Virginia, has announced his engagement to Miss Marion
Elliott Murchison, the daughter of Colonel Kenneth M. Murchison, formerly of Wilmington, North Carolina, but more recently of New York. The Marriage will be celebrated in New York during the month of April.
The following article was published in the April 29th 1902 edition of the Wilmington Star. - Fredricksburg, Va., April 24. - Mr. Charles H. Hurkamp, the noted expert rider, owner of champion jumper Amaret and
proprietor of the Amaret stock farm here, and Miss Marion Murchison, of New York, were married at noon today at the residence of her father, Colonel K. M. Murchison, 46 west 57th St., New York City, Rev. Mr. Stevenson, assisted pastor at Dr. Hall's Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church, officiating. Councilman W. H. Hurkamp of this city, brother of the groom, was best man, and Miss Elizabeth Hurkamp, sister of the groom, was maid of honor. After a bridal tour Mr. and Mrs. Hurkamp will reside at "Boscobel," the handsome country home of Mr. Hurkamp, near this city.
The following article was published in the September 18th 1916 edition of the Wilmington Dispatch. - Funeral Of Mrs. Hurkamp - The remains of Mrs. C. H. Hurkamp, who died in Baltimore, MD., Saturday
afternoon, were brought to the city this morning on the 9:50 train and were deposited in the Murchison vault in Oakdale cemetery, following a short committal service by Reverend Dr. W. H. Milton, rector of St.
James' Episcopal church.
Mrs. Hurkamp was the sister to the late Mrs. James Sprunt, of this city, and daughter of the late Colonel and Mrs. K. M. Murchison. Mrs. Hurkamp, with her son Charles, and daughter, Luola had been until a few days ago spending the summer with Mr. James Sprunt at his summer home at Narrgansett Pier.
Surviving her is her husband, Mr. C. H. Hurkamp, of Virginia; and brother Mr. Kenneth M. Murchison, of New York, and sisters, Mrs Shirley Carter of Baltimore, MD., and Mrs. Frank S. Ellis, of Atlanta, Ga.
