      Wills Point Chronicle, Tuesday, September 20, 1938

      Mrs. Catherine Lewellyn who died Sept. 15, was born in North Carolina Nov. 14, 1850. At the time of her death she was 87 years, 10 months old. She has been a resident of the Wills Point vicinity for the past eight years. Mrs. Lewellyn was united in marriage to G. W. Lewellyn in 1868. To this union was born twelve children who are Mrs. J. M. Rankin, Mrs. S. D. Addington, W. R. Lewellyn, J. K. Lewellyn and A. D. Lewellyn. She is survived by thirty-two grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lewellyn was a member of the Methodist church.
      Funeral services were held Friday, Sept 16, at 2:30 p. m., at Palmer Grove church with Rev. Earles officiating. Interment immediately followed in the Union Grove cemetery with R. F. Williams undertakers in charge of arrangements. Acting pall bearers were J. K. Rankin, G. M. Rankin, Leslie Lewellyn, W. L. Lewellyn, H. B. Rankin and A. L. Gates.
