- [Lee Stewart]
This William Anderson donated the land on which the Mary Stewart School was built. The school is located on US Highway 301, about halfway between Dunn and Benson, N.C.. During the 1940s and 1950s it was a grammar school. I don't know if that's what it always was. Presumably it was named after William's wife. (Lee Stewart, January, 2001)
I recently (March 2001) learned that in 1991, the Mary Stewart School was being re-modeled into a warehouse.
