In 1880 Lazarus Wester was listed at the residence of William T. Johnson and his family. I was told William T. was also known as "Turkey Bill" and his wife was Nancy Matthews, a d/o Simon Matthews and Elizabeth Atkins. Lazarus was 23 and a laborer. A granddaughter of Simon Matthews and his second wife, Nancy Stewart, was Ida Bertha Matthews who married John A. Hamilton, and their daughter, Bessie Hamilton, married Alexander Rufus Wester. So these families were all close! This makes me feel certain that Alfred L. Wester was part of the family of John H. Wester and Delila Matthews, but I am not sure that he was Lazarus?
