| Notes |
- [James L. Williams]
"George Washington Williams had no living descendants according to our family history. He enlisted in the Confederate Army in 1862. He was 18 at that time and unmarried. He died of disease in March of 1863 in Charleston. He is buried in Magnolia Cementery in Charleston. We have visited his grave. He was a member of the 31st NC Regiment, Company C, Clingman's Brigade, Hoke's Division along with his brother, 2nd Lt.
Jacob Calvin Williams. We have letters from Jacob that speak of his death in Charleston. "
