STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA, COUNTY OF Harnett.
On this 2 day of July, A. D. 1906, personally appeared before...Rebecca Byrd, age 63 years and a resident at Lillington post-office...makes the following declaration in order to obtain the pension under the provisions of an act entitled "An Act to amend Chapter 332 of the Laws of 1901, for the relief of certain Confederate Soldiers, Sailors and Widows," ratified March 2, 1903; that she is the widow of the late J. L. Byrd who enlisted in Co. H, 50 Reg. N. C. State Troops, on or about the 27 day of April, 1862...
