Vera Baker Ashworth, 78, of Fuquay-Varina died Friday.

Funeral services were held this morning at 11 A.M. at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel.

Survivors include daughters, Lois Forbes of Fuquay-Varina, Dean Horton of Garner; a son, James Ashworth of Duncan; sisters, Lessie Mae Johnson and Dorothy Horton, both of Angier, Phyllis Moore of Sanford and Lillian Sexton of Mamers; a brother, Rudolph Baker of Fuquay-Varina; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

James married Nettie Dean about 1933. Nettie (daughter of Charles Henry Dean and Neatie Frances Mills) was born on 4 Dec 1912 in Buckhorn Township, Harnett Co., North Carolina; died on 3 Aug 1987 in Harnett Co., North Carolina; was buried in St. Sloans Church of God Cemetery, Duncan, Harnett Co., North Carolina.
