    There was an estate sale for the estate of Daniel Baker, jr. after his dearh in 1829. The estate sale was run by Angus Kelly and started in January of 1830. A man named John Black was buying items "for the widow". He has also turned up in other places with the Bakers, including a deed where land was sold to Archibald McFadyen. He also shows up on that marriage bond for Mary Baker and John McPhail. I found that John and Mary were buried in the John McPhail cemetary in Cumberland Co.
    John McPhail, b. 8 June 1799 - d. 12 July 1882 Mary (Baker) McPhail, b. 22 August 1801 - d. 18 May 1855.

    Daniel married Catherine Unknown on 17 Jan 1822 in Cumberland Co., North Carolina. Catherine was born on 4 May 1795 in Cumberland Co., North Carolina; died on 17 Aug 1837. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Catherine Baker is listed as the head of household in the Bows Creek, Cumberland county, census of 1830. She has the four children with her. Her name is spelled Catharine on the index.
