Death of Mr. W. H. McDonald.
This gentleman, who has been confined to his home some six months,
passed quietly away on Sunday morning. He was a good citizen and
a member of the Methodist church, and had many friends in our
community. He was a carpenter by trade and had reached the 61st
year of his age. He leaves a wife, son and daughter, with whom
our people deeply sympathize in their great loss.
The burial services took place on Monday afternoon, conducted by
Rev. J.B. Hurley.

Death of Aged lady on Wednesday Last
Mrs. L. M. Gordon, a devout Christian lady, feel asleep at her
home near Tally Ho church. She was about Seventy-three years of
age, and joined Tally Ho Church when she was fifteen years old.
She is survived by four children as follows: J. M. Ellington, of
Oxford; L. G. Ellington, of Durham, Mrs. Ida G. Newlin and Mrs.
Hettie McDonald, of Tally Ho section. A large crowd of sorrowing
friends gathered at Tally Ho Church Thursday, where she was laid to rest.
